The PAFFMA has a display, which is changed twice a year, on items of interest in forest fire fighting. Past exhibits have included Smokey Bear posters, souvenirs and collectible; forest fire aviation tools for mapping damage, fire progress, gathering info for ground fire fighters; primitive tools developed by fire fighting pioneers, etc. The PAFFMA exhibit is located on the second floor of the Pennsylvania National Fire Museum located at 1820 Noth Fourth Street in Harrisburg The Museum itself contains horse-drawn fire apparatus, mankings of horses and local volunteers firere fighters, a stable, earlier motorized fire trucks, and a working alarm system activated by street fire boxes. |
